The GTROC is proud to support and sponsor the JMH Automotive team competing in the British GT Championship and the GT Cup UK.  Announcing the partnership between JMH Automotive and GTROC, both JMH Automotive drivers said they were keen to get involved in the GTROC, attend meets and events and share some of their knowledge.  The GTROC is going to support the team and watch closely the drivers’ campaign this year and follow them at key races.

The British GT championship showcases the most prestigious and stylish sportscar grid of any national motorsport championship. The 2012 season will visit six UK venues and there will be one international event, held at Germany’s infamous Nurburging GP circuit during the N24 weekend.  For those going to the Nurburgring 24 Hour event we have arranged something for you already!

For the fans, the British GT Championship offers a spectacular motorsport experience. With glamorous supercars racing bumper-to-bumper, ground-shaking noise, breathtaking speeds and all the drama of pit stops and driver changeovers, the race experience is one not to be missed.

“British GT more than delivered on its pre-season potential in 2011. Not only did the grid grow to an impressive 30 cars during the course of the year, the quality at the front was arguably higher than at any time in the championship’s history.” Kevin Turner, Autosport

GT3 Closely reflects road-going equivalents to keep maintenance costs to a minimum, GT3 specification racecars allow limited alterations to suspension, engine and bodywork. Including such cars as Ferrari 458 and Ferrari 430 Scuderia, McLaren MP4-12C, Nissan GTR, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Porsche Cup 997 GT3r, Audi R8 LMS, Corvette, Mercedes SLS; and of course Nissan GT-R!

As well as the Nurburgring event the GTROC will major at two events in the UK.  GTROC members will be given access to the team, the pit garage and to meet and talk to the drivers.  By picking two events, spread geographically, we hope to get a good following for these races and really show our support to the team.

The two GTROC support events are:

  • Brands Hatch 23-24 June – a 2hr Race
  • Donington Park 29-30 September a 2hr Race

Another event currently being planned is to visit the team when testing  But, unlike normal test days, this wont be a case of sitting on a grassy bank and watching he car going through its paces.  JMH Automotive have offered to let us use the track as well!  Both drivers will be on hand to offer advice to new track drivers and to wannabe champions of tomorrow.  They will help with your driving style and improve your lap times.  You never know, one lucky person might even get a lap or two in a GT3 GT-R!  More details will be announced soon
